With the democratic primary elections upon us our team decided to address this issue and attempt to localize it to our Roger Williams University community. We met with the Vice President of the College Democrats, Amanda Buckley, and a political science professor here at RWU, June Speakman. Both interviewees were very easy to interview and it was obvious that they have been infront of a camera before. June and Amanda both elaborated on the reasons why Bush and the Republicans need to be ousted from the White House and they did so with respectful and informative responses. I think the demeanor that both of these women used during their interviews made for a much better package. Knowing June Speakman from having her as a professor I am sure she would have like to rant and rave about how wonderful Hilary Clinton is and how terrible George Bush is but she kept her remarks informative but firm.
I actually saw Amanda Buckley on Spring Day in one of those "Dunk Tanks" that people throw baseballs at and if they hit the target Amanda would be dunked into a tub of cold water... My guess is that the College Republicans were lined up there all day long. I wanted to give it a shot but I couldn't bring myself to dunk her after she helped us out so much with our news package...
